Stephanie Hanson has been studying music since the age of eight and has dedicated more than 20 years to teaching piano and voice. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education, is a graduate of the LoVetri Institute for Somatic Voicework® at Baldwin Wallace University, and has earned two piano teaching certificates through the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto, Ontario.

Stephanie has studied piano with internationally acclaimed concert pianists Kathryn Mientka Farrugia and Dr. Silvana Santinelli, and voice with Canadian soprano Erica Northcott. Her diverse training has shaped a teaching approach that emphasizes healthy technique, musical artistry, and a lifelong love of learning.

As a performer, Stephanie has appeared as a solo pianist throughout the United States and Canada, performed with the piano quartet Cantare, and collaborated with numerous musical ensembles throughout the Black Hills region. She has also directed adult, youth, and children's choirs and enjoys helping students develop confidence both in lessons and on the stage.

In addition to teaching and performing, Stephanie is a published arranger and composer whose music is available through Musicnotes.com.

Stephanie is the President of the Black Hills Music Teachers Association, a member of the South Dakota Music Teachers Association, the Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), the National Association of Teachers of Singing (NATS), including the South Dakota Chapter of NATS, and the National Guild of Piano Teachers/American College of Musicians. She is committed to ongoing professional development and brings current teaching methods and best practices into every lesson.
